Neil Cavuto is an absolute fool. There should be no doubting that he is seriously ignorant. But the stunning idiocy he has recently spewed for his anti-science screed against action on climate change cannot be dismissed as usual.
[Think Progress] For the past week, Fox News host Neil Cavuto has been giving a daily “Fox News global warming alert,” which consists of him telling viewers how cold it is. “It is still cold,” Cavuto said yesterday, adding that it’s “not your recent garden variety global warming.” “It’s freezing across the entire globe,” Cavuto shouted on Saturday.
Neil Cavuto does not seem to understand seasons. It is winter north of the equator, you stupid monkey, of course it's cold! Nothing about the regular progression of the seasons disproves the science of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). And I very much doubt that the 80 degrees in Sydney today would be considered 'freezing'. Dumbass.

If there is a more insulting canard than the claim by many rightwing nutcases that a given criticism puts someone in the "blame America first crowd", I'm sure it would be racist. Endlessly, for decades we have heard any questioning of American foreign policy by Democrats written off as blaming the United States. I want to know how long it will take for some ignorant, kool-aid drinking neo-conservative to lay that insult to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen.
[NY Times] “I would argue that most strategic communication problems are not communication problems at all,” he wrote. “They are policy and execution problems. Each time we fail to live up to our values or don’t follow up on a promise, we look more and more like the arrogant Americans the enemy claims we are.”
Will any republicans or conservatives have the moral courage to stick to their principles on this one?
I am not worried or concerned or tempted to ask, "What has happened to my country?" No, I understand the American culture.
I believe the stability of America is at risk.
I wish I could treat the subject as thoroughly as possible, but unfortunately, I only have a blog. I can only state my simple opinion. I will state it without sources or links or any of the things that can be analyzed for rationality or credibility. I will express my feelings.
The Freeport Journal Standard recently published a piece called From the Pulpit: Time for a Christian Revolutionary War by the pastor of The Father’s House Church. While it doesn't matter where this church is or who this pastor is, the content of the article is another frightening example of dangerous, extremist thought in our country.
It is time for a new Christian revolutionary war.
and
The true church of Jesus Christ must arise in this desperate hour and storm heaven with our prayers. We must not relent until our Christian heritage is established again in every aspect of society.
This is a call to treasonous violence. Establishment of christianity in "every aspect of society" would be in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
This should probably be filed in the obvious category, but it is nice to see my government get it right for a change. From the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Intelligence and Analysis, DHS/I&A, issued this unclassified assessment:
DHS/I&A assesses that lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States. Information from law enforcement and nongovernmental organizations indicates lone wolves and small terrorist cells have shown intent—and, in some cases, the capability—to commit violent acts. [emphasis mine]
Perhaps Glenn Beck and his roving bands of tea-waving lunatics are more than idiots. They would seem to be dangerous idiots.
I recently wrote about the Fate of Bush's Faith-Based Initiative, and President Obama has answered with an Executive Order continuing Bush's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (FBCI) as the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (FBNP). The change would seem to be in name only, as it does not mention the odious EO 13279 which was the primary flaw in the agency.
No organization should be discriminated against on the basis of religion or religious belief in the administration or distribution of Federal financial assistance under social service programs
Hence, organizations such as those detailed in this diary, which promote horrible public policy, continue to flourish.
Naturally, some of this is because of educational differences. Americans who have lower levels of formal education are significantly less likely than others to be able to identity Darwin with his theory, and to have an opinion on it either way. Still, the evidence is clear that even to this day, Americans' religious beliefs are a significant predictor of their attitudes toward Darwin's theory. Those who attend church most often are the least likely to believe in evolution, and most likely to say they do not believe in it.
There is only one conclusion to draw from this poll: Americans are stupid because of religion.

Both Senators Jon Kyl and John McCain, republicans of Arizona, voted against SCHIP legislation that easily passed the Senate on a bipartisan basis, as it always has. McCain for all his bluster during a presidential campaign about helping people and reforming Washington was just pissed upon again. Here's what my senators (small 's' for these dickholes) voted against:
A bill to amend title XXI of the Social Security Act to extend and improve the Children's Health Insurance Program, and for other purposes.
Yes, my senators have voted against children's health. Want to see why?
George W. Bush is the worst and most disastrous president ever.
I am loathe to publish this article before his term has actually, finally, ended, because there is still time to be attacked by nuclear missiles from Russia or something.
The Bush administration has presided over the worst disasters in our nation's history, from terrorist attacks to both natural and manmade disasters of epic proportions. And through it all, this wannabe president showed more than just incompetence; the administration was criminally negligent.

The United States of America tortures people.
This is common knowledge now. The Senate Armed Services Committee has shown the administration from Bush to military commanders are responsible for our torture policy. Dick Cheney has admitted he authorized it. Duncan Hunter, ranking member on the House Armed Services Committee, specifically defended three instances of torture. The European Union has investigated our 'black site' rendition program, used to facilitate torture. And dozens of cases exist of those that have been innocent of any crime, but were tortured nonetheless. We have graphic pictures from Abu Ghraib to confirm this.
What does it mean to live in a country that routinely tortures and whose leaders speak as if they were stars on the TV series 24? It means that my leaders are guilty of war crimes in their made-up 'war on terror'.
Nothing is quite as sad to watch as republicans literally running from reality. Barack Obama was born in Honolulu. A birth certificate has been verified. To say otherwise is to be an embarrassment to the human race.
